Other conditions & terms
Internet information, cookies and “Do not track” requests
Cookies are small files often placed on web browsers by websites that are visited, or by those sites’ content partners. Cookies help sites remember returning visitors. For example, a cookie can tell a given site that you’ve registered in the past, so that you don’t need to sign in for each new visit. Cookies help customize your view of sites according to your preferences.
We might use the following kinds of cookies on the Sites:
Strictly necessary cookies. This type of cookie is required for operation of the Sites. This includes cookies which enable you to login to the secure areas of the Sites, use shopping carts or use e-billing services.
Analytical or performance cookies. This kind of cookie allows us to recognize visitors to the Sites and count them, as well as observe how visitors navigate the Sites. It helps us improve the user experience of the Sites.
Functionality cookies. This type lets the Sites recognize you when returning after an initial visit. It helps us personalize content for you and remember your preferences, such as your choice of language and time zone.
“Do Not Track” is a privacy initiative intended to develop a standard method by which an Internet user may signal websites that he or she doesn’t want to be tracked by any third parties. You can learn more about the initiative here:
“Do Not Track” hasn’t been standardized yet, since there is no consensus about precisely how websites should reply to this kind of signal. Like many other business websites, our Sites do not respond to Do Not Track signals.
Some of our Sites use Google Analytics and/or Google Display Advertising to collect data about anonymous user activity by using both third-party and first-party cookies. TRS uses Google Display Advertising and other features which gather data through cookies from DoubleClick and other third-party providers, in order to:
● Better serve you with relevant ads after you leave our Sites
● Provide us with insight about how various advertising services relate to Site visits
● Identify trends in Site usage, and publish those trends in our internal reports
Google Analytics gathers IP addresses. We rely on your IP address to know the geographic locations where the Sites are being used. Your IP address doesn’t identify you individually, nor does it contain any personal information.
You can choose to opt-out or customize Google Analytics and Display Advertising by using Google’s Ad Settings. You may learn more here:
You can also choose to opt-out from Google Analytics tracking by using the Google Analytics opt-out add-on for your browser, which you can find here:
Please keep in mind that if you choose to opt-out of such tracking, you’ll continue to receive ads while you browse the Internet, but the ads won’t be tailored to fit your own interests.
Visiting other websites
When you visit one of our Sites then leave in order to visit a third-party website, the data which is transferred to that third party might include a referring address that shows you came from our Site. This allows such third parties to monitor their own web traffic.
Children’s privacy online
None of our Sites are directed at children, nor are they intended to be viewed by children under the age of 13. We don’t knowingly gather any Personal Information on the Sites directly from children, and if we become aware that a child has disclosed such information without appropriate parental consent we will destroy that information.
Access to Personal Information, and questions
We will provide a reasonable opportunity for you to access your Personal Information, correct inaccuracies, or delete it if appropriate. As subject to applicable legal requirements, (1) any such request must be reasonable in scope, and (2) TRS reserves the right to deny access if the expense or burden of providing such access would be disproportionate when considering the risks to privacy, or when the rights of others might be violated by such access.
If you want to request access to your Personal Information, or if you have any questions regarding our policies, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1-800-432-9512
